Stone Sports Management is pleased to announced that 2014 NASL expansion franchise Ottawa Fury FC has signed 30 year old Palestinian-American Defender Omar Jarun to a 2-year contract with a one year option.  Head Coach Marc Dos Santos will rely on Jarun to lead his backline and ultimately to the NASL Soccer Bowl where Jarun competed in a similar Finals competitions with the Atlanta Silverbacks in 2007 and Vancouver Whitecaps in 2008.

Jarun recently made history by becoming the first Palestinian ever to sign for and play with a Belgian Jupiler League club when he inked a two year contract with RCSC Charleroi in Summer 2012 and made his debut against Gent.  His American status also recognized him as just one of two Americans playing in the Belgian Jupiler League with USA International midfielder Sascha Kljestan who plays for Anderlecht SC as the other.  CNNSI did a feature on Omar during Palestine's 2014 World Cup Qualifying Campaign to Brazil.

"This is a great opportunity for Omar to return to North America with a leadership role on a new expansion franchise. Omar and his wife Genevieve and their toddler daughter Aubrey were looking for a right fit, and Ottawa Fury's vision and excitement around the franchise presented a win-win situation," says Agent Justin Stone.  "Omar brings a lot to any club besides his on-field abilities.  He is an organizer, natural leader and brings experience such as needing to win in pressure situations as he found in Poland, winning championships at the NASL level, performing internationally with Palestine during their 2014 World Cup Qualifying Campaign and also from Belgium which has recently developed some of the top players in world football. I am looking forward to seeing him make an impact in the NASL."

Omar Jarun shares his thoughts on the move, "I am thrilled to be joining the Fury family and to return to North America after recent stints in Belgium and Poland.  I would to thank Head Coach Marc Dos Santos for trusting me to help lead the backline and excited to work with Marc as well as Assistant Coach Martin Nash who I have fond memories playing together with in Vancouver and winning the 2008 USL-1 Championship.  I also would like to thank my agent Justin Stone for helping to solidify my return to North American.  My family and I have been waiting for the right opportunity to return to Canada where my wife's family is from, and the coaching staff's and club's vision along with the NASL's growth makes this an ideal fit. I look forward to getting to Ottawa for pre-season and to meet my new teammates and start on this new adventure."
