New England Revolution Captain Jose Goncalves had a monster performance to help lead the Revolutino to a 1-0 road victory over the Montreal Impact. Not only did he score the game's only goal but he also held the MLS Golden Boot leader Marco di Vaio off the scoresheet after he put two past the Revolution in their prior meeting. Goncalves put in a Defender of the Year perfomance that has been recognized by the New England fans as well as Major League Soccer. Goncalves earned the Sovereign Man of the Match, and MLS named Goncalves to the Team of the Week and additionally as a Top 3 Weekly Performer with Vancouver Whitecaps' Kekutah Manneh and the Chicago Fire's Mike Magee. The clean sheet extended a Revolution club record to thirteen games with two matches to play.
